About Dr. Lopez

Enrique Avila Lopez has been teaching at MRU for twenty years, and counting. Originally from the south of Spain, Andalucia, he left the sun, olive trees and sherry to study and teach in the United Kingdom. Enrique was in England for over a decade enjoying fish and chips, English rain, and Liverpool football while earning his Masters in Latin American Studies and Ph.D in Contemporary Spanish Peninsular Literature.

After investing in a quality pair of snow pants, Enrique focused his teaching on Hispanic cinema, Spanish literatures and cultures. Apart from his teaching and research, he likes to travel and meet new artists in his field of interest. One of his major hobbies is cooking for himself and his family.
