Yesterday I undertook the glamourous task of looking at garbage cans in public spaces throughout MRU.  My assessment wasn’t scientific or completely comprehensive but I learned one thing.  Single use coffee cups and paper food containers are a significant issue and a major contributor to our waste profile.  These pictures were taken around 9:30 AM.  By the end of the day more than 300 bins like this will be full to overflowing.

 

The widespread use of re-usable coffee mugs would make a tremendous difference!!
