Another benefit are tools that help you to break down and chunks the tasks of essay writing. This could help support you in seeing the essay as a project with several clear “base stations” rather than an insurmountable “Mount Everest.” Setting due dates for these base stations can be one strategy for avoiding the night-before due date panic. Remember that you need to make these due dates visible to yourself (increase their potential to bring your attention to a priority task). A large wall calendar with all due dates, colour coded by courses, exams and major projects underlined, is often a good way of cuing your attention.
