Redirecting links from Library search
2016-06-28 Update: The problem has been resolved and links are working as expected.
We are currently experiencing a problem where some links from a library search are redirecting to the Library homepage. We are investigating this issue and attempting to resolve it.
In the meantime, if an item (ebook or article) has more than one link please try all the links. If there is only one link and it does not work, then you should be able to search for the title in the library’s traditional catalogue and link to it from there.
You may also search directly in your database of choice, the list of databases can be found here: http://libguides.mtroyal.ca/az.php
Thank you for your patience while we resolve this issue.
Artstor and Summon
It has been recently noted that Artstor images can sometimes not be viewed properly using our discovery tool, Summon. This is because in order to properly view Artstor images via a Summon search, popups must be allowed. Navigating directly to the Artstor database works normally and as expected, it is only when following summon links there is an issue.
To fix this problem you have to add the following URLs as popup exceptions in your browser settings: .artstor.org & .artstor.net
Below is how to add the exceptions to your browser:
Chrome:
Select the 3 parallel bars icon in top right of browser window
Choose settings > show advanced settings > Privacy > Content Settings > Popups > Manage exceptions > Add URLs
Firefox:
3 parallel bars icon top right of browser window
Options > Content > Exceptions > Add URLs
Internet Explorer
Tools (right of screen) > Internet options > Privacy > Popup blocker > Settings > Add URLs
Discovery search tool restriction August 6 and 7
Summon, MRU Library’s discovery search tool, will have no real time availability information August 6 and 7, 2014 while we go through upgrading. Our upgrading will also effect access to the library’s traditional catalogue and patron’s library accounts.
